AAFP, AAP, ACC, ACOG and MGMA launch "Get Connected" E-Prescribing Program
The AAFP today joined the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) in announcing the launch of an online portal called Get Connected where physicians can follow a step-by-step process designed to help them transition from paper-based prescribing to e-prescribing. The five organizations comprise the Center for Improving Medication Management, which educates clinicians and their staff on approaches to implementing prescribing technology and integrating it with offices' daily workflow. Steven Waldren, MD, Director of the AAFP's Center for Health Information Technology, is also Chairman of the Board of the Center for Improving Medication Management.
