German Physicians Reject Idea of Centrally-held Patient Records
E-Health Insider reports that NAV Virchow Bund (Germany's national association of doctors in private practice) is advocating for the abandonment of all concepts of central data storage in the German national health IT project, which is under development. Citing concern that a centralized system would be easier to hack, the physicians' group suggests storing such data on thumbdrives, for which patients would be responsible. Read the full article.
