EHR 120 - Understanding Features and Functions

Objectives:  

  • Learn about the "must have" features of an EHR
  • Learn about studying your current workflow and envisioning new workflow options for the EHR

Tutorial Content

Basic Functions of an EHR -- Learn about the basic tasks and functions an EHR performs.
E-Prescribing vs. Fax-Prescribing -- Learn about the differences between e-prescribing and fax-prescribing and how these functions integrate with an EHR.
Speech Recognition FAQs -- Get answers to common questions about using speech recognition with EHRs from members of the AAFP EMR Email Discussion List.
Study Workflow Problems -- Identify actual (and perceived) sources of inefficiency, delay, duplication of effort, or wasted time that you want an EHR to alleviate.
